Final Blog Post

I really enjoyed keeping a blog this semester. I love writing, but sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to continue with it. I should have committed to posting more regularly. I had the tendency to write posts out in the 'drafts' section and leave them there until it was time for a blog check. If I were to do it over again, I would choose a day of the week as the deadline to post and stick to it.  I do not think I'll continue with this particular blog, but I could see myself picking it back up in the future. This past month has been the worst of my life, so it became very difficult to keep up with schoolwork and blog posting.  I definitely enjoyed the writing experience that came with it, though!

Exploration - One Pager

A one-pager is a great way to get students involved in reading. It is a culmination of knowledge about a certain book or piece of media that lets teachers know what students know.  Here is my one pager on the book, Ready Player One. Ready Player One

My New Hair Care Routine

Image
I inherited my mother's hair. In a few words, our hair is unmanageable, thick, wavy, and multicolored. I take a shower every day in an attempt to detangle and prevent oil buildup. Chrissy Teigen told me in a commercial once to condition first, then shampoo to preserve volume. Being 15, I implemented it into my haircare routine without a second thought. Now that I'm 20, I've come to realize that this method is not good for combing tangles out of your hair.  28 Inches of Hair I measured my hair in this photo. The tape measure begins at my scalp which is why it looks too long. My hair measured in at 28 inches, almost 2.5 feet! This is my beginning picture at the very start of this new process. I'm looking for changes in length, shine, color, and texture. With the help of the internet--specifically TikTok--I was able to put together a customized haircare routine by mixing and matching the most interesting parts of different videos I've found. I've put photos of the ...

Exploration - Digital Poetry

Image
Digital poetry can take many forms. The form I explored was Bookspine poetry! This consists of creating a poem using the spines of books.  It was much harder than it seemed to form a coherent story, so I created two. One rhymed while the other focused on the story. Rhyming Poem When breath becomes air, a drowned maiden's hair.  Blue lily, lily blue, the invisible life of Addie LaRue.  Fever 1793, the Mysterious Benedict Society.  Dance of Thieves, Dream of Thieves.  Waiting for Godot, Edgar Allan Poe. Story Poem Improving your storytelling.  Harry Potter bravely Howl,  I'm glad my mom died.  Leaves of Grass, the Color of Water, a Magic Steeped in Poison:  Supernatural Serial Killers
