Final Blog Post

I really enjoyed keeping a blog this semester. I love writing, but sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to continue with it. I should have committed to posting more regularly. I had the tendency to write posts out in the 'drafts' section and leave them there until it was time for a blog check. If I were to do it over again, I would choose a day of the week as the deadline to post and stick to it. 

I do not think I'll continue with this particular blog, but I could see myself picking it back up in the future. This past month has been the worst of my life, so it became very difficult to keep up with schoolwork and blog posting. 

I definitely enjoyed the writing experience that came with it, though!

Dear Reader, My name is Maya Steinke. I am a junior English education major with a music minor at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. I am in ENG 281 this semester, which is Digital Writing and Multimedia Texts. The major assignment for this course is to create a blog and post to it using concepts we learn in class. Exploration - Photo Essay

My (New) Family Room Lake Ruth God Attends Estill University Drive Lightning Strikes      My photo essay is a thematic essay about beauty in my new home. I moved into my first apartment at the beginning of this semester, and I miss home a lot. I’ve been taking pictures whenever I see something beautiful to remind myself there is beauty everywhere.       The first picture is a photo of my living room in my apartment. I decorated the walls with lots of photos of myself, my roommate, and my boyfriend. I also used my roommate’s artwork. I hung a Moroccan lamp in the corner, plants in the other corner, and made sure to include a giant book collection.       The second photo is of Lake Ruth. I lived in a dorm room in Corbin Hall last year and ate by Lake Ruth every day. My boyfriend and I sat down on a bench overlooking the lake underneath a big tree.
